5 of the volunteer maintenance team and one K2 Explorer (the DC's son) made the most of the good weather today to clear all the twigs, (in the store ready to burn) do the first mow of 2022, finish the tap instalation after it was destroyed by the falling 60ft pine in the storm, clear the stingers from the river bank and we got in the river and cleared all the debris we could find under both above and under the waterline. I can confirm the water is a toasty 4°c at the moment but we will make sure the heaters go on this week!We are all looking forward to Family Camp 2022 after the enforced break in the last 2 years :'-(Next job, sweep out both all weather shelters and the climbing tower (By sweep I mean use the 230mph air blower) ... I am raising money to support scouts in Farnham District, in particular 2 initiatives:1) 4th Farnham's Scout hut is being rebuilt. More funds are need to fit out the interior and make it usable.2) My son is one of 4 youngsters from Farnham District who will be part of the Surrey Units, going with the UK Contingent to the World Scout Jamboree next year. He needs to raise money to finance his attendance, support those in his unit, and also help subsidise scouts from developing countries to attend the even in South Korea.Do contact me directly, or via my page if you are interested in ordering a scouting keyring. Animal /character heads can be made to individual preference, as well as necker colour/design.www.facebook.com/neweysknits/photos/a.434319103650348/1506584899757091/Introducing my latest creations.... a range of scout themed keyrings. Do you know a beaver, a cub, a scout or explorer? Made to order , with customised neckers for your troop.Monies from keyrings will support two scouting efforts:1) Building of new scout hut for 4th Farnham Scout troop2) My son has been selected to represent Surrey Scouts next year at the World Scout Jamboree. He is fundraising to send him and his unit to South Korea. Monies raised will also subsidise the cost for scouts from developing nations to attend. Each keyring costs £5, or £6 including post and packing. #worldscoutjamboree #surreyscouts ...
